Andrew Van Tassel is an award-winning musician who draws inspiration from several musical styles, including bebop, hard bop, fusion, indie rock, R&B, and classical music. His latest album, Shape-Shifter, showcases his unique sound and experiments with electronic elements in a contemporary jazz setting. Andrew's albums have received praise from jazz critics worldwide, and he has performed at renowned venues such as ShapeShifter Lab and Rockwood Music Hall. He has also played with bands of various genres, including the GRAMMY-nominated Terraza Big Band. As a composer, Andrew has been recognized with awards including the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award. He has also been invited to teach and perform at prestigious schools, most recently at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
